Sensor is at top of screen behind mirror. HBA is much more accurate on my My12 than on previous D4 not sure why or if they have changed sensor.

Tried it for several days in a loaner D4. Now, choosing my words carefully so as to try and be balanced about it, I'll say this. It is the answer to a question that nobody ever asked.

Does it work? Sometimes. Not 100% which it needs to if one is to avoid dazzling other drivers.
Does it falsely activate? Yes. Street lights, reflections etc can fool it easily.
Would I pay good money for it? No, not without a quantum leap in reliability.

The Auto wipers thing I get. It's nice to have something which amounts to an intermittent wipe setting which is sensitive to the amount of rainfall. And if it all goes wrong it's not a biggie, just operate it manually.

Auto headlights are less acceptable. If they don't work correctly every time it raises a safety issue, albeit a small risk. Same thing with HBA. If you dazzle just one oncoming driver there is a risk he could crash.

I've had some fairly decent pi55taking about FFRR's and Butlers. Whistle Well the 2012 D4 HSE has more automation than my 2007 FFRR Vogue SE. I really do think if you that operating a high beam switch is too much effort then it's time to get a chauffeur 'cos you're clearly too bone idle to drive yourself. S'pose I could send the Butler round if you like. Rolling with laughter

More seriously, LR would have been better to spend the money making the EPB into something a bit more fit for purpose.
