High Pitched Noise From Engine (Update)

I have noticed lately a high pitched noise coming from the engine after a journey when it is on tickover. It does not occur the whole time, just now and again. It seems like a high pitched whistle and does not appear after starting in the morning, just after a good run. It does not cut out by itself however if you rev it a few times the whistle can go when it returns to tickover. Hope it is not the turbo on the blink. Any clues?

Ter

Try to find out if its coming from engine itself or from engine equipment (alt, pups, etc)
remove the fan belt and check if the noise is still there
First of all check the oil level
it may be exhaust manifold leak or similar
hope its not a turbo

Brought D3 to dealers yesterday.
They think it is a pin hole in one of the intercooler hoses.
They taking it in Monday for the day and doing a double flush on the auto box also as has gone over the 100k and judder a bit and change has not been as smooth of late.

Update

Dealer said it was a fault in the intercooler and has ordered a new one under warranty.
Too bad they couldn't get the steering wheel straight after tracking, yet again.

Simply because problem has been there on and off for past two months and had a service in between and they never copped it. Only had 90k then.

Left into dealers and they said it needed a new intercooler.
The high pitched noise was gone but power way down in the 0-60 range and grand once you get it above that.
You have to take off easy and gradually work up.
If you have it in sport or rev too much in D, you leave a big cloud of grey-brown smoke lingering behing you till the revs drop. ( Its like a java black batmobile).
Also engine system fault keeps coming up on display but resets on restart.
Phoned dealers back and asked if intercooler was in and was told yes. I asked if they were replacing pipes aswell and was told they never ordered any. Surely new pipes should be fitted with new intercooler?
I asked them was the €550 I gave them just for oil as the service left me with no power and smoke and the 4-wheel alingment is ass ways as take your hand off the wheel and she glides nicely to the left.
They said they would ring me back but must have forgotten?
They also waiting on auto box oil as they said it can't be got.
So hopefully some day I will have it sorted.
Why would anyone in Ireland bother moving up to a D4 when there is such a poor level of after sales service and they want €50k for the change up, (Some hope).
Land rover dont seem to care as Ireland only now has OHM, the importer and they dont care now as sales are way up.
Thanks lads, end of rant Rolling Eyes
