Yes please Nick Thumbs Up

I may be no fan of the ‘5, but I’d still rather it was a car from Solihull than any one of the alternatives Thumbs Up

The 'activity platform'?

Not sure, will ask when it comes into service.

Thumbs Up

Edit: Just had a zoom in on the third picture and there's no sign of it.

Is that a radio PTT on a gooseneck arm above the steering wheel? Any chance of a closer picture of how that's installed?

Thumbs Up

If you look at my posts I uploaded lots of pictures in the posts called “my office”.

The 17 plate car was a test vehicle and was only a 2.0

All the cars in service now are 3.0

So far they’ve been fantastic but I’d prefer a D4 any day

Hopefully we’ll be looking at the new defender as that’s ore of a successor to the D3/4

Or maybe the Ineos Grenadier??

Thumbs Up

Saw one of these with real police in Oxford even better didn't notice the plate due to police markings and it was a 68 reg .Unless it was on trial I hadn't realised TVP were using them as normally Beamers with old Volvos going as well???.

Just recently noticed that both National Highways officers and the Greater Manchester police are now using Volvo XC90's around this area at least.
Don't know if they are on trial or if Volvo have managed to gain the supply contract.
Having spoken to a few Traffic officers, they did like their V70's in days gone by.

Response vehicles have to be reliable, common sense says that product and franchise capabilities have to be considered in an overall package, why would any 'service' consider a vehicle that both isn't ultra reliable, or able to be competently fixed by its dealers.

Not knocking LR totally, but lets be honest, if your life depended on a vehicle getting to you ASAP, I'd much rather it was one that was boringly reliable as opposed to one that isn't.

The reason we Highways traffic officers are using XC90 and BMW X5 now is the Gov want the carbon footprint reduced so the ones we use are PHEV ones rather than diesels.

The Disco is not available as a PHEV yet and Defenders are hard to get hold of.

I think we will get LR stuff again soon but their wait times are too high and Volvo are more than happy to supply stuff to us.
