It is Les - not sure if that was standard or an option on my car?

With all the messing around with my Car order I missed Homelink off my final spec So purchased a mirror off eBay and guess what its not like mine with the High Beam Assist!
Anyway not one to be deterred and seeing the cost of the Highbeam assist homelink mirror is 400 quid I thought id see if I can rip the wrong one apart with a view to transferring just the housing and the case. Not quite there yet but it does look possible (i think)
First, look underneath and you will see a recess to get flat blade in and gentle pry the from bezel off, work it gently the plastic is very soft eventually you will reach the first clasp which will pop satisfyingly then continue round very gently to its free. You can see then in the photos you can undo the Arm backet and then wiggle the steel O ring thing off to get the arm out so next job is to pluck up courage to do the same on my original and see if they look compatible !

You doing better than me
I couldn't get that trim off and stopped before I damaged the plastic too much
I saw the indent underneath but wasn't sure which direction to attack from with the screwdriver

Didn't have time to look at my original today ill have a go next weekend. The homelink module is self-contained. Worse case I think ill pull the module out and fit it in the headlining with some suitable looking momentary switches in the light/sunroof console. Theres loads of space behind it and a switched live feed too:

So had some time this weekend to try and get this sorted. As with most things Landrover and me what I thought would be a 15min job turned out to take an hour but I think I am nearly there!
Removed my mirror with high beam assist
Carefully eased the front bezel off and removed the mirror panel to find the ball fitting is the same but I was hoping the circuit board would be the same with the a power jumper free to plug the homelink module in and it isn't and can't use the Homelink mirror as it doesn't connect to the Highbeam assist sensor
so, not to give up i couldn't be bothered to locate a live on the board so removed the arm from the unit and threaded some wires through it with a view to hooking the homelink to the switched live in the roof headlining.
The arm fitted in the homelink case fine and i then soldered the wires to the homelink power feed wires.
I then fitted the mirror back together and back to the car threading the wires up into the headlining.
It was dark and freezing so I left it for now, so in theory just need to sort power and I'm done. But what a pain in the backside its been!MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Well done
So you are using your original mirror front (glass) and arm with high beam assist, mounted in/on the Homelink mirror body

Yep
I've got a switched live running up the A pillar for my road Angel, I'm making the huge assumption the homelink module is a third party module Landrover have not designed and just needs a 12v feed, it will either work or go pop MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Going swimmingly it would seem
That's not the high beam assist one by the looks of it so your still ok !
Mine was a pig I stuck it on the radiator for a bit to warm the plastic as was trying to do it in a freezing garage and it wasn't budging. I used a screwdriver and a plastic mobile phone opening tool and only worked from the outside never against the mirror glass.
Good luck.MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten

Update - it works
I bodged the connection to the switched supply to the Homelink supply cables that I'd run with some Wago connectors (robbie look away now) and crammed it all up in the headlining. Turned on the ignition and hey presto.
Ill take the time to wire it properly at the weekend but at least I know it just takes a straight forward 12v supply to work.
