Nice work, Andy
Let us know when the group buy is organised
Not sure I'd have the time to make this in bulk assuming people would want one. However MKII is in the pipeline.
Saw a National Luna one at Donington called a Portable Power Pack. Granted it was a bit more sophisticated than mine, just, but did cost £299. And that's without any batteries. So there may well be a market for them.
Cheers

Been thinking re this vs a battery booster box as I'm not that keen on pulling all the stuff out of the aux battery box. Either that or get a battery booster pack. But I have a box, and I have the fairly new battery, plus wiring that got stripped out of Dark Bluie. Shouldn't cost too much in cables, gauges, outlets and switches.
Main use for this is keeping the Engel going overnight and USB charging of tech if the phone or pad gets too low.
First daft question, can a battery in a box be charged up from an ignition live only ciggie socket?
Second daft question, will this upset the BMS in the D4?
Third daft question, is it safe to charge these in the car, even vented, as doesn't charging give off gases?
This is the battery, I'm assuming it will fit in the box height wise, will check when back sauff.

I'll let the experts answer your questions Del, but I had an old toy box, so I made a battery box, but with no battery, I have 5M of cable, with a 12v socket on the end that runs to the split charge system in the car, or into my camping trailer.
It allows me to have the box in the tent section, or wherever I need it
Nice and simple

It's very light as no battery and I use it also to store all my charging cables etc Iggy/Ieuan

DSL you can get a DC-DC charger, will look for a link, but haven't got one so not sure how well it would work. Don't know if it will upset the D4 plus I'd always air on the side of caution regarding charging and fumes.
I've progressed a bit with the boxes though

Nice idea Iggy with using a lead to the aux battery in the Disco so the box is not as heavy
I'm trying to sort a mains box with 12v outlets also. Just need to sort a suitable transformer to step the voltage down. Got a couple of ideas so just need to try them out. Will basically be the same as the one above but mains powered instead of having a battery in.D4 MY15 SE TECH

Cheers Iggy
That one had a 500w inverter and an IP rated mains socket. Also has a 75ah battery, although the box can take a larger one, mains charger, plus the usual 12v bits.
Looking to try and sort one with a EHU and a transformer to step the voltage down so I can have mains and 12v but without the battery. Got a couple of things to try so watch this space
