Had the fist service a few weeks ago and subsequently noticed that the horn was no longer dual tone.
Took it back to the dealer (so far very good) and whilst checking another D3 it had the same issue as mine (to mine and the dealers surprise) we then checked a RRS which had the dual tone working correctly.
Fitter checked the horn to the left side of the grill and it was kaput (power to it but no noise), the other horn seemed OK, new horn ordered.
New horn fitted (last Fiday) and it works OK but it is still not dual tone, seems taht teh other horn is now kaput ???
Car is due to go back in for investigation.
I am beginning to suspect that a software upgrade (during the service) has had an effect somewhere.
Anyone else had or know of similar issues? Knowledge & Reason - the arch enemy of faith

there is a TSb for water ingress issues into the horn, also regarding the concern of not been dual tone the retailer has not fit the correct horn, you have probably got 2 low tone or 2 high tone, the water ingress causes the horn to go off,

Must be a UK thing. Here in SA we just have one tone. I suppose your ambulances go "bee bah bee bah", so is it like that with the D3? Here in SA its just "honk-honk"

as quoted there is a TSB for this issue and it involves the fitting of an improved protective splash shield....point this out to the dealer.. Gone.......but not forgotten

Hi.
Noticed the other day that our horn has lost it's duality, I think caused by the water and dust of Iceland. Mentioned it to the service manager of Pentland this evening (they were showing the LRX concept) and while he said they'd replace the horn he didn't seem to know anything about a TSB for an improved splash shield. Admittedly he wasn't able to check his system. Does anyone know the TSB number before I book it in?
Thanks. 2014 Defender 90.

There are 2 TSB's for the horn issue, they are No.LTB00075v3 (20 May 2008) and No.LTB00164 (31 July 2008), the first states a splash guard should be fitted with new horn, the second states Replace high/low horn with electric horn. Hope this helps you.
