The bible is product of men, translated and altered to suit various agendas through the ages, it is not set in concrete but open to interpretation by various churches and factions within them. To live a good 'Christian" life does not require the opinions of others, great churches or any form of organised religion, you merely need to be a good, kind person, help others where you can and be the best you can.==================================

It is not a surprise that non-Christians do not pay regard to, or go against, Scripture.
For a person who describes themselves as a Christian to say that what Paul, who is affirmed by Christ and the Apostles, states in the Bible is wrong - I cannot see how that is compatible with being a Christian.
A CofE minister will have (IIRC, and it'd very strange if not) affirmed that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

A common misconception of people who haven't looked into it. I'm not sure anyone who seriously looks at the authorship of the Gospels believes they were written centuries later, whether that academic exercise is carried out by a Christian or otherwise. It smacks of being a pretty lazy internet forum response.
There are, of course, many translations, because there are not exact 1-2-1 matches between the primary source language and the language it is translated to.
Of course, the English language has changed over the years so, although I often refer to the King James Version, it is sometimes difficult to follow because some of the words have fallen out of use or changed meaning. It is rare that I will study the Bible without looking at several translations including literal translations and cross-referencing of other uses of words that might introduce ambiguity as part of the translation.
It may be that, in time, we'll need yet more updated versions; perhaps ones that make clear e.g. that when it says 'woman' it means a 'real biological woman' rather than a man who thinks he is a woman...that type of thing.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

I'm not sure that ANY of those will provide anything other than the affirming of Paul as stated above, whatever form and structure of words are used.
To say that Paul is wrong would be to go against any honest translation of the Bible.
'Some' may think that the Gospels, for instance, were just co-ordinated writing of four blokes a couple of hundred years 'later' but I don't think that's a congruent position for an ordained minister in the church.Black 05 TDV6 HSE Auto

And this highlights why after 20 odd years as faithful church servant I left organised religion when I finally realised that churches only exist to control people and what they think.
Organised religion only exists to serve its own purpose, not Gods purpose, it has always been the case since men realised what a powerful tool religion was and how much can be gained from controlling it. Jesus never envisioned the church to be powerful land owners and major businesses, spending vast sums maintaining buildings, holding great works of art and jewels and other wealth and its leaders living in palaces and other great homes instead of helping the weak and poor and getting out and spreading a message of love, peace and understanding. Religion isn't about all that its about you and whats inside you and how your actions reflect christian values (or what ever other belief system you follow), the church in the bible is about the people who follow the religion, not organisation and hierarchy.==================================
