Good evening guys and girls. First ever post so be gentle!! I have been having a few issues with a hot off side rear wheel on some drives recently. After viewing many posts on this great forum, I have decided to have a look this afternoon. After stripping the wheel and removing the brake pads I found the hub span freely, with no vertical movement, so I have ruled out bearing issue! To remove the disc I first dis-engaged the parking brake, the quick way of doing this is with the car running hold down the parking brake switch, turn off the car and keep holding the switch for 5 seconds, this stops the parking brake from engaging (little tip for you there!) I removed the brake disc and found the EPB was rubbing on the inside of the disc. After a quick clean up I installed the disc again and adjusted the shoes so they weren't touching the disc while the brakes were off. After rebuilding the wheel, taking it for a test and after 20 miles the wheel is cold! Previously it was on hot to touch after this distance! If you have this problem and have the time and space to do a quick strip and clean it is well worth doing as this could have cost a bit at a garage. I will update you great people over the next few days if anything happens! Hope everyone has a great New Year, and keep up the good posts! Many thanks
