HSE Auto Dimming Rear View Mirror

This has never worked since I picked the car up, I can't find a separate on/off switch so I just presume it should always be on, with a light to signifiy this at the base of the mirror ?? or am I missing something obvious. I had a similar problem with the one on my Porsche Turbo. Any thoughts please ?

Its automatic, and very subtle. The lamp you refer to is the light sensor!

If you get a car parked behind you at night, get them to turn the main beams and you willsee the difference.

I honestly know what it should be like

as have the same in the Porsche, in the Disco it simply doesn't work at all, should there be a power light on at the base of the rear view mirror

I agree with Gareth, the first time I drove our Disco at night I thought the back window was dirty, then I realised it was the mirror 'auto dimming', a kind of bluey tint to it. Very good in my humble opinion.
