HSE MY2007 - should it have the rain sensor?

Had my MY2007 for a week now and still reading the manual! The only thing I can't find is the auto wipers; mine looks like the MY2006 spec wiper switch (no auto setting) shown in the Owners website but everything else I read says this car should have them (its got auto lights). Anyone know if the MY2007 had the rain sensor removed? And should I be glad? Thanks.

Have you tried leaving it in the intermittent setting and sprayed some water on the screen?

MY2006 has auto wipers too - mine does at any rate...

There's nothing on the switch other than the - - - stencilling for intermittent. It doesn't appear to have a fuse of its own. Does your auto lamps function work 'cos it might share the same fuse (fuse 18 behind the glovebox)?

Do you have a big lump of plastic behind your rear view mirror.

Do your wipers actuate if you stick them on the ---- setting and spray water at the area noted above? (outside the car rather than inside Wink )

I think they work well - would be better still if the wipers didn't judder, but will try a set of valeo's to sort that (since PIAA have confirmed they're not interested in paying royalties to make a wiper that fits Sad )

If you look at the windscreen from the outside there is a very small area of blueish PE cell, (just like a small piece of solar panel) in front of the rearview mirror, this is the sensor for the automatic wipers.

What's the build date? Maybe the PO didn't like them...and took them out?

Mine is a 3/07 build date...SE, and it has them (unfortunately). Laughing

I wanted to take mine out by removing the sensor wire. Unfortunately this also means losing the auto headlights and I am lazy.

Found them Embarassed The owner's handbook Quick Start section says the rain sensor works on the intermittent mode, and shows the stalk in my car. What threw me was that the detailed section on the wipers shows a different stalk with an "auto" setting. Looks like my car has the rain sensor after all! Thanks for all your responses. What an excellent lot you are.
