Really surprised to discover a few things that aren’t standard on the HSE spec of my 2016 D4
Puddle lamps under the wing mirrors
Heated steering wheel
Blind spot detection
Remote control for timed heating
Were these some of the items LR decided to fit as standard for some year models but then take them away for others?
Would replacement wing mirrors with puddle lights etc be an easy swap? 1998 Defender 110 TUM HS FFR Hard Top XD WOLF

think there were various options - my HSE has no heated steering wheel, nor blind spot detection - not sure about puddle lights, can't say Ive ever looked for them (or indeed needed them! )
I have timed heating but no remote for it.
So sounds like they might all have been HSE lux or Landmark options? 2014 D4 HSE Facelift Corris Grey

I don’t think either of my two 16 plate Landmarks had puddle lights in the mirrors. I might be wrong but I think they came with the 360 camera option.
Heated steering wheel and remote heating were always optional extras for the HSE.
I don’t recall any of my Discovery’s having blind spot detection. Again, that may have been part of the 360 camera option. 2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

I think they fitted what they could depending on component stocks.
My 65 plate HSE Lux has a Heated Steering wheel and timed heating(but not remote).
But does not have puddle lights or 360 cameras.
I didn't know Blind Spot Detection was ever a thing on D4s.
To be honest I heard such bad things about the quality of the 360 camera image that I was pleased it only had a rear camera when I found it.
And I have of course fitted an excellent Altox Remote heater controller, which gives far more control and additional features than the LR one anyway.
It also doesn't have a centre Cubby fridge, which I thought it should have, but not having had one in my D3HSE either I don't miss it. and anyway, I don't know where I'd put my CDs if it did. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

I should add that I was very keen on finding a D4 with the very top spec head unit, speakers etc, which was in theory fitted to the HSE, HSE Lux, and possibly Landmarks.
But I viewed at least one of each that did not have it fitted.
So, the warning from this is to be absolutely sure the standard features you are particularly keen on are fitted to a D4 before you commit, because in my experience having the badge on the back does not guarantee it. Heaven doesn't want me, and hell is afraid I'll take over.

My June 2015 (2016 MY- Adblue) has under mirror puddle lights (In the shape of the outline of the car). I specified and paid extra for blind spot and cross traffic detection (the only extra I considered worth the money). Heated steering wheel was an extra I could have paid for but didn't (I live in SE England !). As far as I am aware a remote for timed heating was never an optional extra from the dealer. I know you can get aftermarket kits to add this. I do have timed heating and am able to set up a turn on time in advance (this is done from the front console acreen). I have full sized spare which is good. Ivory leather had disappeared as an option when I ordered in March 2015 as was rear climate control.
Hope that is useful
Cheers Gary

Have to say my Graphite has top end head unit ,timed heating ,puddle lights etc so not just the territory of
HSE and Lux. Thats a run out one so likely just raiding the parts bin.
