Hi All,
It looks like I am about to go for a nearly new Discovery 4 HSE.
The following are all the build options, accessories aside, for the 2011 HSE.
Locking Rear Diff
Lower Centre Console Cooler Box
Remote Park Heating
Heated Steering Wheel
Homelink Garage Door Opener
Adaptive Xenons
Surround Camera System
Privacy Glass
iPod Lead
Rear seat Entertainment System
Hybrid TV
Full Size SPare Wheel
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System
Factory Towing Option
I've been reading through lots of threads on here and wanted to check - am I correct in thinking that all these options may all be retrofitted to a HSE apart from the Surround Camera System and the Hybrid TV?
Thanks in advance & all the best.

can't answer for all but it is cheaper to spec the heated steering wheel than to retro fit
in this weather it's worth the cost too! XC90 T8 R Design Pro
MY14 D4 HSE Lux (sadly gone)
Mariana Black with Ivory interior and lots of toys!

Locking rear diff HAS been done, but you're better off paying the £500 as an option.
Homelink ISTR is states only isn't it? Not so popular over here.
Adaptive you need extra modules for it to work - not cheap
Most of the softare switching on stuff can be done, I would speak to Pete Bell at BAS as he's been doing a lot of work on tehse elements Bodsys Brake Bible

Hello
Pete Bell can sort the remote park heater for a lot less than the dealer likewise Wiggs can sort your hybrid tv option, i think. Worth a PM to both to see how much you could save Club Exped trailer
Club Timed Climate
Club Flappy paddle steering wheel
Club 300bhp
Club Prospeed test pilot/lab rat
Club National Luna Stella conditioner

Hi Mr. Rasterscan & welcome.
Here are some of my opinions if you want to hear them...
On a 'nearly new' car you will have trouble getting much of the stuff on your wish list.
Locking Rear Diff - Never had it, never got stuck, others with experience may comment differently. (no pun intended)! Very difficult retrofit.
Lower Centre Console Cooler Box - easily retrofitted
Remote Park Heating - Easily retrofitted by Pete Bell
Heated Steering Wheel - Again can be retrofitted by Pete Bell
Homelink Garage Door Opener - I think this is for the American Market only, speak to Pete Bell
Adaptive Xenons - Not easily retrofitted if at all, although you can have the cornering lamps activated.
Surround Camera System - Not easily retrofitted and seems to be a bit of a gimmic TBH. Reverse camera is all you need.
Privacy Glass - You can have this done by any reputable tinting company.
iPod Lead - It should come with one, not expensive if it's missing.
Rear seat Entertainment System - Very expensive, buy the kids an iPad each!
Hybrid TV - Yes, see Wiggs
Full Size SPare Wheel - You can pick these up off ebay, definitely get one!
Tyre Pressure Monitoring System - Not sure, see Pete Bell
Factory Towing Option - Not sure, see Pete Bell

Excellent info - thanks! That's confirmed some opinions and some suspicions and most of all, clarified what's possible.
None of them are *essential* for me, but most are nice to have in some way - good to know some can be retrofitted as this widens my choice of vehicles.
Right, now I just need to get one and then add on some of the other options where possible.
Thanks again.

To clarify : the rear locking diff is a "very difficult" retrofit. Difficult for an amateur DIYer, or difficult for a garage with lift etc? I'm guessing there is some electronics involved over and above swapping out the diff itself then, or is access an issue?

Modules, wiring overlay, ccf enablement, new diff, locker, new cvs, new driveshafts......
Not to mention invalidating warranty. Easier in time effort and parts to pay the £500 as factory fit option. Bodsys Brake Bible

It was an education about Ds, for a Newbie, reading your posting. And others too. Thanks to everyone.
The reversing camera, can one be retro-ed to a D3? [D3 - 06 - SE]
If so, or if not, where can I get a "kit" , or substitute, and is it a DIY?
Would my LR Warranty be affected?
[Presume my Insurance Coy would it? But want to charge me £££ to Register it.]
Many thanks.
