any one got it?
is it worth the extra?
What can & can't it do? i.e. digital? does just picture go off when moving or does sound cut out too?
any info appreciated as web doesn't have much!

Hello Dave,
I have it in my new HSE and whilst I haven't worked out exactly all it does I'll give you my views to date.
I assume it's called hybrid because it can pick up both analogue and digital terrestrial signals but to date I've only had it pick up digital. As a result it is extremely sensitive to signal strength/location. If you drive about the country you will need to retune it regularly as it locks on to whatever the local transmitter is and doesn't have the ability as far as I can tell to retune to national multiplexes in the way that RDS FM and DAB radio can.
With a good signal picture quality is good and it's a great gadget to use when waiting to pick somebody up. I was watching the Utd game on ITV last night as I waited to start my five a side match which was pretty cool.
The picture fades to black as soon as you take the car out of Park and so there is no video on the move but the sound does continue to play although this breaks up as the car moves as it tracks/loses signal. I understand that you can buy an interface to enable video in motion, anybody who did this would be daft IMO !
If you have factory fitted RSE screens then I believe the tuner can feed them when in motion but once again you'd be at the mercy of signal strength as to how clear the image was.
In summary a gimmick but quite a nice toy nonetheless.
Hope this helps.

I have got it it my HSE, and use it a lot. Its very good for the time I spend in the car, quite often between jobs I park up and do paperwork. Its always good to have an option to the radio.
It is very signal dependant, but I am led to believe that as the switch over to digital happens, the signal strength will improve in most areas (not sure if that's true or not)
You can get terrestrial channels as well as digital. The <and> buttons on the screen tune it up and down the scale. There is no button to lock it onto digital or terrestrial. I think it somehow mixes them up. The channels that are digital have a name on the button, ie BBC1, BBC News, SKY News etc. The terrestrial channels have a number.
I think thats the case anyway I would not now be without it.

I have this on mine with the RSE and would agree with the earlier posts. You can check the option to send the TV picture to one or both of the rear screens and these stay on as you move off but it does lose the signal very quickly which is a pain. I like being able to watch the TV when I'm waiting for someone but I imagine that I will use it less and less when the novelty wears off.

excellent, thanks for all your input.
will probably go for it save regretting it later!
can you get the radio channels like you get on a freeview tv set?
I think only the hse gets dab so that is a partial way round!
