Hybrid TV with Alpine Roof
Gentlemen,
Two months ago my 4 yr old D3 was demolished by a Kia
A long story, but even a Kia can beak the chassis if it hits you fast enough and in the right spot - He didn't stop when he should have and took off my front end - The police had nothing to measure: He didn't even brake. [Glad I was in an LR]
So I made my dealer happy by placing an order for a new D4 with mod-cons including Alpine roof and TV for the kids. Last Thursday the car arrived and the Alpine roof is missing. Now the dealer is telling me that these two items are not compatible and he is trying to convince me to take the vehicle or wait another 2 months.
The TV was a last-minute idea; We would prefer the sunroof and glass.
I need to make a decision TODAY and if they really don't work together, then I'll drop the TV option and will have him re-order - His loss, but why should I pay for his mistake?!? It says quite clearly in the brochure, "Please consult your Land Rover partner". Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to know either - How about the experts here?

I can think of no reason why hybrid TV cannot be fitted with an Alpine roof.
In the UK the Alpine roof is standard on the 2 top models. The HSE can have hybrid TV as an option and the HSE Lux has Hybrid as standard.

I have glass roof and TV
The TV antennas are on the side glass .. The only thing that goes on the roof is a pod with the DAB radio antenna in itG4 Gone ...but not forgotten

That's what I was thinking - It makes no sense and I also ordered the DAB radio, but that had "no problems".
He's just making excuses to have me take the vehicle sitting on his lot.
I didn't mention that the rear diff lock dropped off the order too - also not related to the TV as far as I can tell
My dilemma is that I am leading our local club (www.landy-club.de) to Wales this summer - Just hope the re-ordered car makes it by the end of July so I can fit the underfloor protection before we leave....
It never rains.... huh!

OK, mine is 2010MY but I have the glass roof, DAB and TV.
And they all work fine! Bri

On a UK model you can't have the locking rear diff and rear seat entertainment because of a weight issue so that dropping off the order is probably connected although I would expect a dealer to know a bit more about it Cheers Ian

Thanks to everyone who chipped-in.
Here is an update as of early July.
Would appear that the Extra locking diff and alpine roof are on the same line when an order is placed / printed.
Having the TV option (and I am not talking about the full entertainment system here - just the tuner in the front console), the diff drops off the order. Because they on the same line, the alpine roof drops off too.
Land Rover Germany cannot explain it, but that's the way it is in 2013 - so I dropped the tuner!
The major problem is, as I mentioned, our convoy leaves southern Germany on Aug 3rd for Wales.
Initial estimates were that the Disco would arrive on Aug 8th. After contacting LR DE, they tell me that the vehicle will be built the week before and they will arrange a special delivery to deepest Bavaria for July 29/30.
I then have 3 or 4 days to fit the Devon protection, CB, side steps, and Compomotive R18 wheels, etc., etc. The winch bumper will have to wait until we get home!!
