I enjoyed this...

I particularly enjoyed the straightforward explanation of why they designed the 3 to look the way it did at launch. I'm only sorry that they don't think that way anymore Sad

PS: The video reminds me of just how good the D3 looked from the beginning. Here's the controversial bit: it's a shame that we're losing so many original looking D3's to be turned into 4 look-a-likes. The D3 can stand proud looking just the way it does Thumbs Up

PPS: Please don't post just to say that it was once posted 6 months or 4 years ago! Rolling Eyes Laughing

All LR accessories. Whistle

Just ignore the fact that now it has only 2 seats, rock sliders, aux batt and a few other mods.

And that I'm significantly poorer. Big Cry Big Cry Big Cry

Oh, and wheels are not standard for an 06 S. Thumbs Up

But it's still a D3! Thumbs Up

Anyone like the comments from the designer (near the very beginning), very little of which (unfortunately) could be applied to much of what they've designed in the last 5 years?....

2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Tonga GreenDiscovery 3

I like a lot this video, clearly shows that in his day the D3 conveyed and gradually loses, IMHO, let me say that even already started to lose with the D4, makeover much aimed at Range Rover. Big Cry

....undoubtedly the D3 was a unrepeatable vehicle..... I think !!

Thumbs Up

Having owned a Series 2 truck, Series 3 lwb hardtop, 110CSW, a Discovery II and had the use of various RRs ect, in my pinion its one of the best LR products, combining form with function, practicality with comfort, for me its the ideal motor.

I enjoyed the video too, always interesting to hear what people involved in a project think.

I also liked the music as well, which I had to look up, Jose Gonzalez.
