I love my D4
We stayed on a campsite in Derbyshire over the weekend. Being a small farm, the field was quite tight and with 7 caravans on, it was full.
When we left yesterday, I needed to reverse the caravan probably 50% of the length of the field in order to get to a point where I could get it turned round. The Caravan is an Elddis Superstorm; an 8 metre (ish) twin axle fella which has a fair old bit of weight in it. Anyone in Derbyshire over the weekend will tell you, we had a significant amount of rain - typical bank holiday weather. Because of this, the site was waterlogged. Added to this, the field was on a reasonable slope; the jockey wheel and front legs on the caravan had been at full stretch in order to get us level.
I was expecting a tricky reverse and possibly the embarrassment of asking the farmer to help with his tractor. However, I got hitched up, selected GGS and reversed with no hint of wheel slip or anything. It was all very boring and un-dramatic. However, I was left in awe of what these cars can do.
Of course, after this physics-defying performance, the Disco got us home in about 3 hours in the usual limo-like luxury.
I absolutely love these cars!!

It's just what they do, isn't it?
Even better is when you're watched by folk who've struggled to pitch up (unbeknownst to you, of course - one would always offer to help!) and then you sail past them without any hint of drama. "The quality remains long after the price has been forgotten."Henry Royce
