The same thing happened to us, my wife was in our Audi and was followed into Sainsburys carpark by a marked car and informed by a police officer that the MOT had expired he very kindly just said you best get it done a bit sharpish. When we checked the Disco that was out aswell oops

We all get reminders for Road Tax, Car insurance renewal notices, Service reminders, yet the government thinks it's funny to not point out the fact that your MOT is running out.
I've never managed to go over the due date, but only cos SWMBO is so bloody organised and provides me with a personal reminder service
