I just have a LR so that I don't every have to clean the car myself - when it goes back every two weeks they do it for me when it is 'mended'. and the coffee's not bad either while you're waiting.

Had a Volvo estate for three whole months - never managed to get it cleaned and had caffeine withdrawal.

Mind your head when you get in.

No steps... I only get to test them raw and basic... and your other advice may well explain my present mental state and mild concussion. Doesnt warm up very quickly though... and its a wee bit chilly in dear old Chesty today. Brrrrrr

Don't try any last minute U-turns. The steering lock, and 'wind up' on full lock is pretty poor compared to a D3.

The end to this saga:

LRCS and LRA carried on being useless but the dealer fixed all the problems, including minor issues such as the sunroof blind. The car was handed back the next morning cleaned, vacuumed with a smoooth engine and a transformed heating system.

I am very happy with the car and the dealer. Very Happy

As for LRA and LRCS, well they decided that the best way forward was to a deliver not one hire car, but 2 - AFTER they knew may car had been returned to me (48 hrs after break-down). It was like a car park outside my house when I got back from work.

I will be writting to all concerned, the good and the very bad, in the next couple of days.

At least I had a car when Turbochip arrived. More of that when Chris has had time to respond to my e-mail.
