I’m back….
Couldn’t stay away.
Glutton for punishment.
Old habits die hard.
Whichever way you look at it, this LR ownership is a tricky addiction to kick. SWMBO threatened me with divorce if I bought another Disco, did it anyway (she wouldn’t).
The wean is dead excited to have “twooo daaa trucksss” to play around/in. The dogs have something new to sniff and wee on, and I finally have the Disco I’ve dreamt of for years.
Trusty old D3 is still here for now. Pinching the few mods I made, and the odd nut and bolt here and there.
But I’m finally in my D4, and I love it. Picked it up on Friday morning after a swift test drive around Blackpool and a thorough scan and poke, and drove 450 miles home straight off the bat.
It’s a MY16, 5 seat converted commercial with all the toys, in one of the greys. Ply floor in the boot (requires a couple of said bolts to finish it off, and a new ply that reaches the seats). 150k miles, but that doesn’t scare me. Drives absolutely beautifully. Perfectly. Comparing against the two other lower mileage 16 plate D4s I drive semi-regularly, it’s spot on.
Very first job is to sort out the mismatch tyres and get my Wildpeaks moved over to these wheels. Then it’s the boot floor.
At some point I’ll need to work out how to get service history from JLR (unless there’s a kind soul here with access to such things).

Magic. Some history exists at least. Only the last 50k miles missing… (though, I haven’t looked through the wedge of paper that came with it, or in the folder in the glovebox).
Was a very reasonably priced example. I thought too reasonably priced until I test drove it and threw the GAP at it. Swiftly threw my money and my old car at the dealer and left. 480 miles ( fast miles at that!) later I was home.
