Any idea what this is?
Hi guys, my heaters work on the drivers side but not on passenger side. Checked stepper motors, all ok. Removed heater matrix to find one side gets hit, the other side not so good.
Flushed out with water and found this, some bit are magnetic but the majority looks like sand/grit
Any ideas

Do you have a sunroof?
Maybe you have a split/perished drain pipe thats sending the water dwn there and thats just some general grit thats come along whit the water?
Even if you dont have a roof, im guessing water is coming in somewhere (I think I heard it can get into the air system via the scuttle vents) and the grits just a part of that dirty water.Disco 3: Lotus Elise S1: Ferguson T20: Audi A2

I thought that too mate, sand from the casting. There’s obviously no way to dissolve this with anything so looks like I need a new heater matrix and the coolant system flushing
