Yes but on a MY10 the next instruction is loud again. the volume preset needs a minus.

Somebody said electric opening tailgate, don't mind that but an electric closing tailgate would be better. How many people on here use the release button rubber bit to close it rather than the proper closing handle due to the shape of the upper tailgate.

Or even so when the low level light come on it goes back to the proper way.

When you're running low the last thing you want is a 10 second / 500ml squirt!!

You can do that if you just adjust the "sensitivity" setting (the dial thingy on the stalk) one click up...

I've had someone pull out of a blind side road and steered into a long puddle and lost the guy completely because the windscreen wipers were very slow to react. I think the shape of the front end precludes doing much about the actual throw of water, but perhaps the wipers could preempt the volume of water going over the screen. Not sure how this would be achieved.... but it would be my 1 thing.

If you've ever had to heave open a D2 door with spare wheel on it when parked facing down-hill !!!!

The split tail gate was one of the things which really sold it to us (and our dogs Smile )

Maybe I'm new to this and still a little in my honeymoon period, but the biggest gripe I have is the Nav/Touchscreen.

To give details, the touchscreen is very slow to respond, in 2012, this should be sorted and standard. The nav itself is just cumbersome to use I find, going through all the details to find it wants you to confirm the destination by showing you a map......if I new exactly where it was, I would not really need Nav. I cam from a BMW, and that was known for poor Nav, but it is still light years ahead of this.

For what is I feel a premium product (the Discovery I mean), at a premium price point, I think this lets it down from being the premium package it should be.

It'd be that bloody Eco Stop/Start system it drives me mental.

Yes it serves a purpose (if only to bring down the cost of the RFL) but build in a timer so that it doesnt switch off the engine when im reverse parking and in the process of switching between D and R, or give me a means of permanently isolating it.

Wife's Suzuki Swift even shorter front end can go through much deeper water and still not throw it over the screen. I cannot recall it ever throwing water up over front screen.

Also reminds me that the Swift never has frozen water jets, well with the same mix as in D4, which even with its supposed heated elements still freezes at anything below 0

The heated seats. When you switch the ignition off, they go off. Annoying.

I've only had mine 2 months, some days I really, really like the overall package, others, it annoys me a little. Having come from much faster, nimble cars, I certainly notice the weight and time to get it moving.
However, it is incredibly practical and has so far been reliable.

That's another thing that worries me, too many stories about reliability. (even though I have a LR warranty till November)
