IID tool versions

Morning, could someone enlighten me please? What is the difference between the BT G3 and the previous G2 version. I’ve seen on GAPs website you can exchange them but is this necessary?

G3 is the bluetooth version G2 was viewed through the vehicle and was very limited compared to what you can do with the bluetooth version Andrew

D3 2.7tdv6 2005
D4 3.0 SDV6 Commercial died and gone to LR heaven
D5 3.0 SDV6 HSE

If you want/need an IID, do get the BT version. It is Censored ace Thumbs Up

I’ve got the app on both the iPhone and the iPad and they’re very handy when you need to do something and inspect values.

Ok thanks for the info. I can see one for sale online which says BT on it but not G3, sorry it was my initial poor description

Sorry to contradict, G2 was BT too. Don't know the difference but trade-in still costs £220 !

just be certain you dont pay a lot for it as it will have limited value if you ever come to sell it . If you are patient on the selling sites you can pick up G3 s for £300

Hi,

I dont think the "Value" will drop much there are that many landrovers out there up to 2016 all the BT units should be useful for a while yet
£300 seems a fair price for either but yes a G3 would potentially be better

anyway by the time they start to drop in price the cost of living will mean their more expensive anyway Rolling Eyes

The G3 version will also do diagnostics on a D5 but no other version will. So a G2 version will be fine and the BT one is a must have. 6 LRs last one 2009 HSE D3.
Current D5 HSE LUX 2019.
