I'm an electronics genius! |

Ages ago, I fitted some neat RING brand LEDs as DRL.
Simple circuit ... live from Smog detector socket feeds a through a NC relay which is energised when sidelights come on, so they turn off.
After hitting standing water at speed a while back, I assume water got in the box and relay stopped doing it's thing, but as every other car round here with DRLs seems NOT to turn them off when headlights are on, I didn't do anything about it. In fact, it resolved itself ... which is why I think it was water ingress.
Roll-on the recent cold snap and there is again water in the circuit ... but assuming it is now frozen as I now have the DRLs always on BUT they dim when I put sidelights on !
It's the ideal setup ... just suspect when it all warms up, it's going to not just stop the dimming but fail entirely.
