Just had a thought on my drive back from the NY Moors re insurance.
I've been driving for many, many years. Havn't had any 'accidents' of my own.
Nor have I been involved in other peoples 'accidents'.
So why is it that it is MY Money that has to go to pay for the 'accidents' of others!!
Ok I know i get a discount for No Claims, but that's scant reward.
I don't beleive their is such a thing as an 'accident' ..... it's just other peoples lack of concentration/application!!

Well Ron, thats the principle behind 'insurance'
If only those that had accidents paid insurance, it would be bloomin expensive for them. We all pay into a 'pool' which pays out as necessary.
If you were - god forbid - to have a nasty accident, and it was - god forbid - your fault, your insurance would cover it.

Are you saying that you've not had an accident but have seen a few?

Land Cruiser VX 1994 11 years together, wife cried when I p/ex'd for my D3

What really jacks me off is the 1 million or so drivers on the road with no insurance ....or tax....or MOT...or a driving licence I wonder how much CO2 they pump out Mr. Greenpi$$ ????
...and yet we ...the humble 4x4 drivers are the anti-christ.

I have a 'colleague' at work who drives an old banger. Two years ago he was pulled over and the police discovered he had no tax, no insurance, 3 defective tyres, and a defective brake light. He was given points (can't remember how many) and a £845 fine. He hadn't insured his car or taxed it for 3 years.
He then complained about the fine - I almost pay more than his fine for tax/insurance combined in 1 year, so what's the incentive for people like him to pay? The worst they could do is take his license away, but I know even that wouldn't stop him. Disco 5 HSE Lux
