Incontrol apps, phone connections - what do people do?

I have recently got a 2016 Landmark. I can plug the phone in to charge in the glove box and then also use the Incontrol apps, but then I can't see the phone as it's in the glove box.

Whilst I generally prefer the LR sat nav the Sygic (handset based) one has the advantage of displaying current speed limits and better traffic avoidance so I'd like to be able to use it without faffing around plugging the phone in the glove box.

I'm thinking of getting a charging lead wired in to a phone cradle but that doesn't enable the apps. What do other people do?

Are you aware that you can use Sygic on your LR Screen with in Control?

No problems with the phone being in the Glovebox, but if you have an IOS or Android handset you can use Sygic as one of your apps an display in on the LR Screen Graphics arent quite as claer as teh LR, bust seeing as they look like they are from teh 80's anywat its not that much of a difference.

The Sygic In control version is fairly configurable too.

Would that work for you?

Shame it doesn't do CarPlay or Waze.

That being said I can't recall if for sure that it displays the speed, but I 'think' it does.

The problem I have with my D4 Landmark is that you need to plug your phone in to a different socket to get InControl Apps. I listen to music streamed from my phone as well as using it for sat. nav., and I have it in a Brodit mount on the centre console:

There's a USB plug on the end of the lead, and I've routed it in to my glovebox.

I thought that it might be possible with one of the built-in apps in InControl to listen to music and use the other apps, but what's there seems to use Bluetooth and doesn't have much in the way of refinements to be able to choose playlists etc.

Not found a workable solution to that one just yet Confused

My Discovery Sport had just one socket for both audio and InControl.

Hi thanks for that - yes I was referring to using Sygic through incontrol / LR screen, it's just that it can be a bit of a pain not least unlocking the phone in the glovebox when switching to incontrol. I have also realised that direction instructions only work if playing sound from the phone.

Ideally I'd get the LR screen to show traffic cameras and current speed limit but I don't think it can?

Hi,

Has anybody tried the Tom Tom in control app? It's about £55.
