Thanks mikey, I did try to give you a call as I was unsure of changing the Injector without knowing if it was needing a program or bleeding. Easy enough to replace it, on the way to Bearmach now to pick up a new intercooler hose.
I'm off to west wales for the weekend so hopefully she will drive a bit better now.Jarrod

I think I remember reading that they need to be programmed to your car.
No programming needed, but need around 250 miles to adapt
I'll remember that thanks Mikey

Well. Just got home from west wales. What a massive difference ! The disco drove like a completely different car. Lie o meter has gone from 21.6 to 29.4 which although lies is showing a significant improvement. The drive was smooth and the car pulled like a train. I can honestly say the love is starting to come back.
A massive thank you to all you guys who helped with this problem. I haven't checked with the iid yet but will check and report back in the morning.
One observation seems that the 'big' problem I thought was the torque converter may well have been because the engine was so lumpy on idle that it was making the car want to try and pull away all the time which I believed to be the tc. Maybe it's not as bad as I thought. I think I will get the gearbox flushed though just for good measure.
2 new issues I've found. My air con wasn't cold at all so either it needs just regassing or I have a leak. It has got rear air con so maybe there's an issue with the pipework somewhere ?
I can faintly hear a speed related bearing noise. Possibly prop shaft. It didn't seem to get worse or better when cornering which is leading me away from front wheel bearings but it is very faint so perhaps it's just not bad enough yet to show as a wheel bearing.Jarrod

Ok so I checked with the iid and the result was similar as before. Cylinder one out of balance with the others. Stumped now. What should I do next ? Wiring harness ? I checked the plugs and all seems fine but I haven't done any tests.
