That looks odd. How about swapping over injectors 1 and 2 (front right and front left). Then drive it for a bit and review the data. Then you should be able to see if the problem is with the injector or something else.

By the way, I'm no expert, it just seems a logical thing to try.

That was my thought actually. I used this reference from another thread to confirm injector 1 but maybe it's incorrect ?

I think that's right. So you could remove your new injector from cylinder 1 (front right) and put it in cylinder 4 (front left). Both easy access.

Or use the one I took out from cylinder 1. I'm very reluctant at this point to "just replace the other 5" on the basis that it could be something else and I can't justify the cost at the moment. I was hoping a guru would dive in on this one as I'm a bit stumped.

Yes, I've replaced all 6 of my injectors. Not cheap parts. Values are better but not right (I've had a recent post about this). I'm going to reset my timing but my problem is different to yours.

Ouch ! It can be a bit soul destroying thinking an expensive part will sort the issue for it to not. I'd love to know what's going on with it.

Looking to have some disco time tomorrow.... going to check my intercooler for cracks etc and all the pipework, I've bought a leak off test kit which I'm going to do tomorrow as well. Can someone in the know tell me what I'm looking for regarding the test ? Ive read a few posts saying they've done them or to do them but what result am I looking for ? Is there any other things I should be checking and looking for ?

Trying to have a look at this today. I've noticed there's a few plugs held in with cable ties. Not the most confidence inspiring. Amazing what all these covers

hide isn't it. Especially as one is an injector plug. Anyway. Live values look the same. Going to do an injector leak off test and see if I can spot what's going on.

I think you will find leak off test is mainly used for poor starting issues, ie one inj is dumping to much fuel stopping the fuel rail getting up to engine starting pressure.
If it starts on ether then runs fine the rest of the day, a leaky injector is your problem.

Yeah I'm clutching at straws. Earlier in the thread I replaced injector 1. It now seems that this has been an ongoing issue as the injector 1 I replaced seems a lot newer looking than the other 5. Strangely when I've removed the leak off pipe from the other front (passenger side) injector it leaked a fair amount of fuel out. About 2 thimbles full.

Leak off test done. Nothing dramatic. It seems that the leak off looks tied in to the live values i.e. That injector 1 running at 1.3k would leak off more etc. Back to the drawing board.

Move the injector with the highest reading to another cylinder, to see if the high readi stays with the injector or the cylinder Thumbs Up

If/when you need new injectors.

Island4x4 have the correct VDO ones, with copper washer and clips for £162+vat each.
That's where I got my 6 from. Cheapest place for brand new injectors by a mile.

I had serious over fuel issues with mine, it would smoke on idle after a few minutes and ran rough.
New injectors has it happy again. I got 5 in, no6 is seized in the head as is the glow plugs so that's next years job to lift the heads and get them changed out.
