My disco went into limp mode and after lots of diagnostics both manifolds had failed , the independent fixing it stated it was sudden unforeseen failure but my warranty company are saying it’s not covered as it wear and tear
I believe it’s a common fault but any help to get the £1900 back off the warranty company would be grateful
Since the repair car runs great but webasto aux heater smokes all the time - any ideas

A split manifold is definitively no wear&tear item.
I would recommend to contact a lawyer to discuss
that in detail with your insurance.
A clutch, brake items or tires have a limited lifetime
but a valve cover or inlet manifold is
normally designed for the lifespan of the vehicle.
In this special case, the manifolds are simply pieces
of lousy engineering.🥴
Your repair costs are not bad, I paid for the lh manifold only
including labour and tax 2100,- €.

I am guessing some companies are putting them in the same category as the snapped crank and will not pay out on them . Even landrovers own insurers come under these.

Other warranty companies have covered it, so worth fighting, I got my first one covered by carprotect.ie which I am sure is part of a larger group. Second one done a few weeks ago but am long out of warranty now, so I had to bear the cost.
