Installation of 8" Touchscreen-Monitor
Today i installed a 8" Touchscreen-Monitor for use with my Car PC and as a Monitor for watching DVB-T without switching on the car. In this case the DVB-T receiver and the monitor is powered by my accessory battery.

I like the mounting bar and bracket, is that easily available??
Also what is the screen type? Setup looks very nice, sort of thing I'm after for car laptop.

I used a goose neck from a cash register which i got from eBay for 1 Euro plus Shipping and made the bracket from a small piece of 2,5 mm Alu which i colored in black.
The Monitor is from Faytech (http://www.faytech.de/display8.html). Only 170 Euro. I think its the best product you can get for such less money.

Looks good, how much vibration do you get with the goose neck mount when off-road?The End

I never started the engine since i installed the monitor, which was late afternoon today, so i can't tell you yet. But the goose neck gives a very rugged impression.

You could have aproblem with airbag deploying if you have a passenger.
I like the idea though gooseneck is neat, wonder if it could fit just to the left of the centre console. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Thanks, i already got a hint about the Airbag. I did not think about that when i installed the monitor. When the Airbag brakes to the dashboard he will also, thanks to the flexible goose neck, push the monitor away. But i will change the bracket a little bit and remove all sharp edges.
I was thinking for a long time how and where i can install the monitor and that was the only place i could find. Maybe there a other options for a smaller monitor, but a 8" is a little bit big. If i had to do this again, i would go for a 7".
