Installing a GPS Speed Camera Detector - how to remove trim!

I'm installing a Origin B2 GPS Speed camera detector and am trying to figure out where to put the wires. I want to put the GPS unit on the top of the dash right by the centre speaker against the bottom of the windscreen, and the little display on top of the transmission tunnel between the aux power and cigarette lighter in place of the ash tray (it fits really neatly and I don't smoke).

Somehow I need to run a wire from the top to here - Any ideas!! I would normally jam it round the windscreen pillar beside the steering wheel but am a little wary due to the air bag cover on that pillar.

How can I get a wire from the top to the bottom safely without damaging or trapping any airbag things etc. I was wondering if I could get the speaker cover off on top and drop the wire down?

How do I get the trim off around the ash tray area - I've taken the rubber tray out and it feels like the plastic tray might just pop out but am not brave enough! Also am thinking of hardwiring some power to the back of the aux power socket there to power this and the ipod charger from - good idea or bad? And if good how do I get at those wires? I've done this loads of times in other cars but can't find the way into this one yet!

Thanks

Paul

The surround trim of the centre binnacle (ie around the radio area and up to the air vents) does pop off - you have to give it a fierce tug - start at the bottom either side - this gives you a reasonable amount of access in and around the radio area - I recently hid the power and external aerial cables for a tomtom 700 up through there to the gap where a the factory fit sat nav goes- How you would get up to the centre speaker though is not somthing I can help you with I'm afraid - good luck
