A Plan insured mine with:
BAS remap
deCat
Allisport Intercooler
Split charge
Upgraded brakes
Expo rack & ladder
D4 facelift
Nato hitch
On street parking
They even insured my heavily modded Lotus Elise no problem.
I have no connection with them but I cannot fault their service, quality of the policies and the price. I use both the Bath and Croydon branches.

Thanks, that's good news
I've got a Caterham R400 that's on a limited mileage policy with a specific insurer, I've done less than 1K miles in it in two years, t may well be worth lumping them both together,
My D3 sounds like yours with de-cat which I'd over looked
Did they load it up or was it reasonable ?Only dead fish go with the Flow !

I have a number of vehicles so may be interested, has anyone made a claim yet? taking money off people isn't difficult, well apart from Astonbuilder but I want to know about the claims service and how that was dealt with, that is the important part
I take it that all the 'great' posts have had claims then

Hi Steve
Mine's not due for a few months and I'm with Land Rover at the mo, but struggled previously due to minor mod (nearly all approved accessories )
Main questions not already answered:
1) is it guaranteed Land Rover parts on repairs inc. windscreen?
2) are these "proper" policies with full NCD entitlement and not the classic type with no NCD?
Thanks. Tony

I've claimed, my wife has claimed and so has our business. All painless. You get to deal with real people which I like.
Premium has always been good and certainly competitive. The thing I value is the service and having branches which you can pop in and discuss things face to face.

Morning,
All the insurers we use allow you to request LR parts in the event of a claim. Outside of warranty the default on a windscreen is normally to use auto glass or similar approved quality screen. Most of the insurers we use would allow you to use main dealer glass on referral.
We use both types of policies depending on your requirements. We can offer classic types that do no earn NCD, but we would normally advise a standard policy that does earn NCD as these policies also have less restrictions.
I hope this helps, but pick up the phone if I can help further.
Steve

Thank you for trying us for a quote, there will be the odd ones where we can't offer the saving we were hoping for. There are so many factors the insurers look at. Please keep the quotes coming, we have about 89% conversion from you guys which is pretty good!
Brilliant service from your Luton office for business insurance - recommended by somebody on a nother forum also, so thought it would be worth a shot. Right price, right cover and right attitude towards me as a customer
Highly recommended by me

Ours is a straight forward no mods D3 with two named drivers both in 30's or 40's but nowhere near on price from Admiral for us.
Maybe better where the insurance requirement is more complex but didn't come close for us
The Discovery D3 G4 Edition has many modifications as standard that were fitted at the factory ready for the challenge in 2009 that was cancelled.
Expedition Roof Rack
Hella HID Lights
Rear Ladder
Under body protection
Warn 95Ti winch
A Bar
Raised Air Intake
Goodyear Wrangler MTR Tyres
Do you class these as "modifications" for insurance purposes as these are standard fit as it left Landrover..?
I look forward to your reply.

Hi, no the G4 has it's own abi code, and that vehicle is standard spec. Some insurers don't understand it too well. We have some that would say it's modified and others that know their stuff understand it's not.
When your ready, give me a call on 01908 271771
Thanks,
Steve

Just arranged my insurance with Steve @ A-Plan. Renewal with e-sure was going to be £429 but this time around I need to delcare side-steps, rear-lights and LPG (er not sure if I did or not last time for the LPG) and wanted Class-I business and green-lane plus off road use. NFU wanted 911 and Adrian Flux quoted £445 (plus they were meant to call back at 1530 and didn't bother).
So business to A-plan at £411 including 3 interest free payments, legal and injury cover. Also the policy includes unlimited modifications (still have to be declared) so might interest a few here.
Moneysupermarket.com came back with quotes starting at £469 without mods and without offroad and only LPG declared.
For comparison purposes 39, 9 years NCB, one SP30 (2012), SO15 postcode. Sole owner, driver, 8,000 personal, 1,000 business.
Not bad for a mobile fuel bomb I would say.
edit: corrected price from £441 to 411
