Does one need special cover for Off Road events/excursions?
If so, is it generally an addittion to ones existing policy?
Or is a separate policy required.

What is the norm for cover - Fully comp or just third party? ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Consensus is to either use LR own insurance or NFU.
Most normal policies won't cover you at Tong for instance, but if your doing green laning for instance you should be covered by a normal policy.

NFU will cover you for all off road activity, with the exception of any time trial, competition or race.
And they're pretty good for pricing too Bodsys Brake Bible

I'm pretty sure they won't cover you.......
You never know, it may well be worth swapping, I saved a bundle when I changed my car.
I found the NFU Direct number more useful (and cheaper) than the NFU branches, but I'm not bothered about the 'personal touch' the local offices give. Bodsys Brake Bible

Perhaps NFU have changed their cover, when I checked they said only Green Lanes were covered for offroad. I changed to LR Insurance and the cover was full off-road (with competition exclusions) and it was cheaper. At renewal this year, the premium was lower again! 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.
