Yes - and it's probably the same call centre as they had all my Privilege details including individual D4 mods at hand. So got a disloyalty discount

I found that, when shopping around for my kids insurance that several well known insurance companies were all owned by the same group. When I asked why, I was told that they all go after different markets. You've just got to find the one that goes after the market you belong to!

Insurance renewal time. Just been quoted by SAGA £805 from £566 last year!! Was with LRI for years but left them last year. Went back for quote this afternoon £659. Best quote so far £523 from Admiral. How do you guys get the quotes in the £300 and £400 region? I live in West Berkshire, Social use only, self and wife, no claims 7 years, no mods but both getting old.

Quote:I though the general consensus was that insurance premiums were actually coming down a little at the moment?
A mate of mine paid £240 last year to insure his Chrysler, just got his renewal notice in and its going to be £164, no changes whatsoever but its down £76 ??

Just been going through this chore myself. I usually insure with NFU but I thought I'd give LR a try. They quoted me £354 (after haggling) including legal cover (which for some reason isn't included when you do an online quote) for the same cover level and excess (£250) as NFU.
After haggling with NFU they have quoted £420, which includes breakdown cover (LR doesn't). Big benefit for me with NFU is the ability to make changes to policy mid-term at no admin charge (e.g. to add another driver or go any driver for a period), whereas LR charge £25 a pop.
I think I'll be going NFU again Andy

NFU were stupidly expensive for us last year - the renewals both went up to £1200 - for 06 Xtype / 52 D2.. and there was nothing they could do to bring this down... cheers

After some time scanning around I have got two good quotes, 1 from Admiral and the other from Aviva. Any reason I should not consider one or the other. Price is half that quoted by Saga.
