Intake manifold - supply issues? (Restricted Perforance)

My drivers side intake manifold is split and blowing (restricted performance), driveable but needs to be kept below about 1600rpm or so. PITA. The air whooshing can be heard once over about 1400 rpm when warm.

Garage has said the LR part is on back order at present (no indication over here when it will be available) and has offered the Britpart version - the OEM part rather than their cheap version / replacement.

Any one else come across supply issues for this part recently.

Also, how long has anyone out there kept motoring with a split intake manifold? Had to tow the horse box at the weekend with the pony and it did the out and back journey mostly under 'Restricted performance' conditions, stressful and slow but ok.

Looks like I may need to tow the box again this weekend for a few miles - am I doing any significant damage by continuing to drive it?

In December 2019,on a trip from Pembrokeshire to West Sussex,my driver side manifold split as I merged on to the A27. I got the restricted performance and the engine would not go above about 2000rpm.
I didn’t fancy driving back three hundred miles like that.
I remembered seeing a video from Australia where a guy repaired his so next day I bought a can of brake cleaner and a kit of two part areldite. I removed the engine cover and sound pads, cleaned away the oil mess with the brake cleaner and gave it several coats of areldite around the crack.
I drove back to Wales without further problems and drove it around until the lockdown started.
I bought new aftermarket manifolds from LR Trade parts (I think it was Britpart) and replaced both sides. The new manifolds were much stronger than the original and no issues since.

Thanks for that, thisisandy.

Was tempted to carry out a plastic weld but the difficulty I have is that the warranty I have (third party carprotect.ie want to see the failed part once removed before paying for the work. I don't want to give any reason for them not to pay.

It remains driveable for now, just taking it easy
