Integrity
If someone agrees in writing, via PM, to sell you something then sells it to someone else on the forum, what should you do?
When you PM them and ask why they have done it but they ignore you what should you do?

Always register you interest on open forum, then PM after to sort out the details. However, "mates rates" and "friends of" will always outbid you I am afraid.
Just take it on the chin, and forget it. Thats life I'm afraid

recon on going round with a trolley jack and take their wheels
TBH, you win some, you loose some - on this forum there's always another coming along.
Rather than attack the why's and wherefores of the incident, why dont you put a "wanted" add up for what you want, chances are someone else might sell yer theirs

Didn't even get to that stage! Next post I saw on the forum listed it as sold!
I understand mates often get preference, I'm not daft, but if that is the case, don't make a promise you aren't going to keep.
If people are going to use the site to buy and sell then there has to be trust and integrity. If not then we might as well use Fleabay.
I pride my self in paying promptly. I've purchased much from this site and have always paid quickly.
I'm still p:censored:ed off so may yet name and shame - after all i do have the confirmation!

That doesn't sound very honourable
Whilst the contractual issues are technically between you and the seller, you could nevertheless make a complaint to the site management who will investigate and seek a resolution. If the complaint is upheld and no resolution is forthcoming then further actions on site usage may be appropriate 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

You're right, it's not very honourable.
I think we are past a resolution - what I wanted has gone and I'm sure the 'winner' is none the wiser and is happy with their purchase.
Perhaps we should have an approval rating system for buyers and sellers, or in this case welchers. I'll certainly be more wary from now on.

Well a resolution could mean an apology
Not sure using the word "Welcher" is appropriate either ....a/ because he owes you no debt as no transaction has occurred b/ because I am Welsh and find the term very offensive 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
