SN kindly pointed out last night that my boot box project has made my boot a bit 'gloomy' when it's dark out. Simple solution - I'll just attach a couple of lights to the side of the new box. Can someone tell me the specs of the bulbs in the interior lights so that I can start googling? I'm just going to connect them up in parallel with the existing light in the boot headlining.
If anyone can recommend a supplier of neat light units, that would also help.

We fit the 800mm led bar in white alongside the original interior rear light. It's very light (as in weight..) and can be held on with double sided tape or sticky velco. Runs nearly the full width of the car and is easily wired with the existing light. Gives a great, well distributed light. Bargain at £35. Also good along the sides of a Explorer rack to give a general outside working light. Blue looks good too!

Now I know you're going to thing this is a bit weird, but I want incandescent bulbs so that the new lights fade out like the rest of the interior lights...

No Bob , not weird.
The interioior light bulbs are W5W .So why not just buy a few interior D3 lights ( like the rearmost one) and do what you say , house them in the side of the box

I put arctic blue ones in they give a less yellow light. They are mini wedge globes; fairly standard type fitting.
You may be able to find 7W ones. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Installing higher wattage bulbs? The factory sets them at 5w for a reason you know
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

As long as the total load is less than the fuse I don't see a problem.
The factory also set the engine management parameters for a reason? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

How long before Speed Limiter becomes S d L r on this forum???
Anyway, if my speed bong can be set at 140mph I think thats LR's way of saying the car is safe to that speed Cheers

Isn't moving from 5W bulbs to 7W a possibly reckless 40% increase??? Now if we all increased our S D L r by that amount.... Cheers
