iPhone c connecting for music

Hi
I have a disco4 2011 hse. The phone connects through Bluetooth but it doesn’t connect via the iPod usb connection. Is there something I’m missing?
Cheers

With this:

1) It pair automatically when you start the vehicle and select iPod as your audio source
2) when you receive or make a call whilst listening to music, the in-car bluetooth phone system still work

Apple have got a lot to answer for. Since the ‘upgrade’ to iOS 11, the connection in the D4 is slow, and when changing tracks, it takes an age for the track to change on the screen. In my wife’s Mini, we have a similar issue to you in that it will play the track that’s already playing, but if you try changing the iPod/iPhone drops off the list.

Apple are blaming car manufacturers and saying that the cars need updating. Many have tried but either the cars are up to date or any updates make no difference. It’s Apple’s arrogance and **** up I’m afraid, but they won’t admit it! It really is about time that they sorted it out, but perhaps we’re at fault for buying their stuff!

Oddly, my old 5s still works perfectly as it (fortunately) won’t upgrade to iOS 11. I have ‘spoken’ several times to Apple and requested that they return my phone to iOS 10, but they refuse.

After playing around with it it would appear it automatically connects to Bluetooth for music after 45sec I have to go in to my music and select iPod to get it to play. I’ll have to see if I can disable the streaming aspect of the connection.

Last week I've received the Bovee 1000 from Amazon.com and very well pleased with the little gem.

Connecting is fast and intially the skip song didn't work, but after reconnecting the Bovee to/from the cable all is working ok.

Strange though that my pause button doesn't work, it immediately starts the song again.
When selecting Radio or another source the music (Spotify) is paused as well dusring phone call.

Running against iPhone X btw.
