Iphone 3G and new IPOD kit
Hi
Took delivery of an 05 HSE last week, dealer had it back to upgrade factory bluetooth, sort out the "nav on the move" and install new ipod kit (without the ipod holder). Iphone 3g works fine but displays a warning about this not being a compatiable accessory and offering to enter flight mode. Anyone with the kit having the same message with the 3G or origingal phone? When I skip the warning all works fine.....

I've docked mine with the cradle version. It displays the same message. The only change I notice from my iPod is that the volume output is a lot lower.

Yup, get the same message, but I don't bother cancelling it, as it clears itself after a short time.Bodsys Brake Bible

All accessories without the new apple "chip" in it give that message, more really sillyness from Apple, most of the world was really scathing of the fact that the new iPod classic will not work with video out lead, you need a new £50 lead or something with the chip in it - ilounge.com had all the details.
Bodsy - know this has been covered 4 million times, but how did you find taking out the radio to install the kit (I have read the LR destructions, just wondering what your experience was). And no before you ask, my split charge system is STILL not installed yet...

taking the radio out is a piece of cake. Getting the glovebox inner to come out required a fair ammount of force though and a levering long screwdriver !!!Bodsys Brake Bible

Thanks Bodsy
Not bought the kit yet
Ideally want the Alpine solution that uses the screen, but no one seems to have found a working video in solution from a blackbox, and Alpine seem to be stuck with the release - probably waiting for the new iPods that are coming next month that they have already designed in support for.

the previously discussed one available at G-net had some stock (7) of their interface yesterday and will ship to UK if paid via paypal;
but the chap I emailed said they 'take months' for them to come in, so if you want one better be quick!

Hmm, not liking that one.
Quote:
It works simply by interrupting the video signal from your GPS computer whenever you select the "Input" button on the IR remote that is provided.
It uses an IR remote not a button the screen as some other interfaces do (or should do).
Quote:
The GNET_LR3 is a video only interface, which means an FM modulator, FM transmitter or CD changer audio input interface adapter needs to be used to connect the audio signal from your external source to your audio system.
So its not connected to the most bus, and $499 is a lot for a box that does not do that IMHO
I must admit I have not looked at things in detail recently, still waiting to see if Alpine release their video interface as noted above, which is supposed to have onscreen album browsing and video playback, apparently.[/code]

Hi Scott - did you end up getting this? How did it go??Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.

How are you finding your Iphone with the D3 anyway?
I have a heap of problems, with not being able to connect, un-paring without reason, calls dropping out, not being able to answer via the steering control - and the worst issue is the echo when it finally does work!!
I have been looking back through old posts on here for some ideas.
I have had the phone for about 2-3 months now and it is running the current software - I am close to giving up on the Iphone! Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
