iphone to satnav screen connection |
|
Hi techno wizards; has anyone contemplated or achieved replicating an iphone screen output onto the satnav monitor? I know there is an apple cable available to provide video out to a tv, so assume that it is posible to modify it to connect to the disco satnav monitor. Any thoughts or ideas? Thanks.

Looks great. I've got the iPhone & the iPhone AV cable but can you advise on the next step...connecting to the display unit. Do I have to be a brave camper, take the dash apart and wield a soldering iron like Woodman's description on connecting the DVD player to the Sat Nav screen? Looks a bit scary to me that

Easiest way is get some smb connectors and connect to the rear of the sat nav screen .. like these http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic6915.ht...p;start=15 .
Enter the diagnostic screen to switch it on .
Another way is to use an interface box that gives you AV connections to connect to the screen ...interface about £350 - £500
Surround pulls off round the sat nav screen and then undo 4 screws ..move screen outwards a bit and plug in SMB connectors. On the other end connect up a female RCA (phono ) lead .
Simple G4 Gone ...but not forgotten

The original Audio Connectivity Module came with a cradle, someone might have one for sale. Failing that, the new ACM provides the iPod connection, I bought a Brodit holder and a Dashmount bracket. Works great! Discovery 3 2.7 V6 TDi | Manual | S spec | Zermatt Silver | 2006 | 20% tints to rear | Audio Connectivity Module | Nokia CK-15W car kit | | Xenons | Disco 4 LED rear lights
