When is a forum off topic?

When can /will we finish with EU referendum stuff and get back to on topic stuff, Disco3?

Frustration has set in. Sad I have just counted 56 pages on EU referendum, Brexit other bits and bobs in 10 days more or less as a consequence the 'new topic' has rolled so quickly that I suppose some genuine requests for help have been missed. http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/topic54235-120.html

This is by far one of the best forums and with the most knowledgeable contributors I have experienced. Not a moan (probably is really) just so frustrated no answers nor opinions yet.

Dare not look as probably 57 pages now but I live hope.

Sorry I can't really help and I tend to agree some of the referendum stuff is really annoying.

However, you may have more luck starting a new thread so people won't see 9 pages of it, just put a link back to that one if relevant.

Not sure if this should go in the "off topic - rants" section Whistle Laughing

It's the thing with forums they do have other threads in there....on all the problems of the world that get fixed...the range of thread subjects is pretty diverse - it does make the site compulsive reading.
What the other poster said about getting a fast answer on a technical matter is to start a new thread...
Fixing a key is relatively easy with a case of Amazon...& a tube of Araldite Rapid (sets in 5 mins)
The pairing issue is one you need an Indie or dealer for...
 BREXIT - done properly.

FL2 has DIPSTICK..."real comfort in rear seats"
VW Golf wondermobile (?)..has real DIPSTICK
Morris Minor..original DIPSTICK technology..and a real KEY.

Thanks for input ,thought it was a new thread.

DG it is an observation not a rant, a rant would I think be populated with more emotions bleeps etc. I assumed it was a "Feedback" component. You can stick it where you think it might ought to live.

At the moment I am screwed, no local garage can help me. Forum is a good place to get technical review, rolls so quickly here at times, earlier I counted three such topics nearing the bottom of the page with no response as yet. Merely an observation.

I understand for sure but we are not yet at a point of compelling users to respond Smile ....every thread gets it chance to be read and responded to ...we have no control over that. Maybe a gentle 'Bump' would have hurried an answer ...maybe nobody has the answer Smile

Daft thought...

Have you tried recharging the battery....
You can use an ORAL B toothbrush charger or even the Colgate-Omrin one
You just park the key as near as you can or balance on top...
Say overnight...

DG I felt observation might be helpful to site moderators ( note not 'editors') it may have been possible to work control in the system so as not to roll over technical issues or requests. Not that I am promoting censorship, far from it. I like very much the banter. I don't know the system well enough to be certain, you mods seem to know what you are doing. The mechanics might have a capability

Of course I fully respect that there may indeed be no answer forthcoming. If by bump that means, refresh that was my second post to bring my subject to the fore, again.

It might even be a saga or story and mine alone, I think not though and I rarely give up especially when something should have a logical answer. Somehow I might be too close to the problem so that I cannot see the obvious answer.

Commentary on Brexit threads etc seems a logical point to discuss or promote, when is enough just that, enough. A bit mischevious or self centric topic promoting you may view but when does a forum get derailed and perhaps not serve as a forum. Rioja and glasses anyone?

I just wanted a bit of help

I hear your pain ...but the forum is unable to operate in such a manner .....new posts in any thread will bump it to the top of the new posts list ...if nobody posts in them then they will naturally drop down the list ...there is no other way I'm afraid Thumbs Up

Just a contribution.

....and yes the battery in car is fully charged and in fob was tested but there is no harm in recharging via Oral B route. I will send message home they possibly will call for me to be sectioned
