I have been watching it, to be honest you have to admire their spirit. Clearly the Japanese are using a loop hole in the rules to hunt whales.
I have no clear views on earing whales or other meat as long as there are enough to sustain the population. I am also quite adament that if you are going to eat an animal then the slaughter process needs to be humane and they have to have a comfortable existence.
As a whale is a mammal I am pretty sure the long process of being harpooned is not pleasant and the tactics to kill the calf so the mother stays to protect it and becomes an easy target is not the most humane thing.

I have been watching it, though the film crew is on the Sea Shepherd and what you see is biased towards anti whaling and what the Japanese are doing, its not giving the Japanese point of view across.
Whether its right or wrong for them to do what they are doing, I can't comment as i don't know enough about it...
As for the crew of the ship
Trying to launch a rigid inflatable the other week, and it hit the water sideways capsizing it and its fully laden crew into the arctic waters, whilst the commotion was going on a bloke ran into the rotor blades of the helicopter with a big boat hook, taking the helicopter out of action due to a bent blade
It was like Benny Hill at sea
The captains point of view that if they crew wasn't prepared to put their lives at risk to board the whaling ship then they should be on their in the first place.
