I found a marked difference using sport mode over the hols. Chalked up
2000km in two weeks plodding around the eastern TVL, and there are not
many level wide roads to speak of. In D, starting a long gradient you put
just enough pressure on the pedal to get a down change from the auto
box and it will drop down 2 gears or you are on 1900 rpm and jump to
3000+rpm. Now the car takes off with a bang, tap off a little, one gear
up change, now the road gradient is a little steeper than the gearing,
down with the foot again, and so this continues on. Dropped it in sport
mode, a lot less gear changes, holds gears longer, easy to tap down
one gear when needed, flick lever over to D, just to get out of comand
mode, flick back to sport and enjoy the ride. I would normally ave on
12.4Lt/100 as I've got all the external add on's and some, was down
to 11.1 at best with a ave around 11.5. Think I will try the work and back
for a while and see if there will be a difference. Also have the TT fitted
and only works in D mode from what I can see. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
