Not at all, I even stated forums have rules and I get that, twice in my replies. But responses by moderators can often be condescending particularly to newer members. I understand that with 30k members it is a tough job. The op obviously feels upset enough to have posted the question and I know how he feels. I do not feel welcome on this site at all. I'm sorry if you feel that way ....and yes I guess that there is always a potential for things to come across in the wrong manner where the typed word is involved especially where banter, ribbing or sarcasm is involved ...but there certainly isn't an intention to make anyone feel unwelcome. Smile

In the main we do communicate with users on issues, though not always in a timescale that suits a user as we may be away from a PC and having or making quick post edits\moves on the fly. It may be that whoever moderated Dutchio did subsequently make contact to explain and this thread hasn't been updated.

The for sale rules (which are flagged up as "READ BEFORE POSTING" in multiple places) say this:

Quote:
You may also NOT post a flurry of new messages simply to increase your post count to "unlock" the FS&W forums - this is not a normal and honest use of the site. Such posts and any ads will be removed.

The reason that posts and ad were removed is covered in the forum rules. I had thought I'd sent a courtesy PM, though in my defence I was working on my phone on the way somewhere so there is a chance it did not send. I admit that since I then did something else I did not check the PM had sent.

It is not in my interest to annoy members. That said there is a balance between mod/admin effort in getting the place tidied up and removing non-compliant posts and entering into a wave of correspondence about it Smile

That's a shame; the responses on your D4 thread don't give that impression. This forum is much more enjoyable that others in my experience, but then I wouldn't have stuck around so long if not!

It has made me feel unwelcome on the forum it's always seemed very "clicky"... yet at the same time some of the tips and advice have been a huge help so I've put up with that.
It takes seconds to send a pm explaining why and what can be done to rectify the problem.
Anyway I've ripped the disco3 sticker out of my back window In protest Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Sorry it made you feel like that. Confused

In the 9.5 years I've been here, I've experienced nothing but friendly banter and more technical expertise than you can shake a stick at. Very Happy

As I said above, I thought I'd sent a PM but there was a reason it may not have gone and I didn't check.

Apologies again and lesson learnt from this side.

In this forum's defence to the cliquey comment - please find me a forum that's been established 11 years that doesn't have a set of regular members who know each other.

I'd rather run a forum where members have friendships built around the subject than one hosting totally dry, factual discussions with no personality.

It might not suit you but it seems to work for the vast majority.

It does seem to be a friendly forum - why there are even meetings throughout the country where forum participants meet up for a drink or a meal and really do take the pi55 out of each other. And swap bits!

Just about anything, Terry. Might even have been the odd whole vehicle. Why not come and join in some time - the one local to me is on Wednesday when I'll be miles away (as usual).
