Hi guys
I'm installing a video screen, navigation unit and a back up camera in the D3.
They require +12v and multiple grounds (the actual ground, and the "ground" for the parking break sensor thing), and I was thinking to just wire them all to the cigarette lighter in the center console. Would that be too much draw on the one circuit?
Alternatively I can ground (earth? I'm USA sorry, I think I read you guys say earth instead of ground, for connecting the negative wire to the chassis) them all at the ground post in the drivers side footwell.
Thank you for any advice

I have wired my Parrot phone kit to the cigarette lighter socket, it has plenty of rating for the TV screens, however the only issue is that if you then decide to use the lighter socker for something else as well it may exceed the fuse rating. It should blow the fuse first, but it is something to be aware of. The double ground is to ensure you have the hand brake on when you have the screen on for DVD's etc. I am not sure how the hand brake sensor ground works as it isn't just a switch as such activating a light, it is all done electronically.
I believe other people have installed similar equipment, so they can probably advise in more detail.

The ground for the handbrake and the normal ground are the same ..to watch a dvd /tv while driving it just needs connecting to earth /ground / negative ..what ever you wanna call it .Stay away from the handbrake its self ..theres no need to tap in there ( unless you realy want it to be activated from the handbrake that is )
I would personnaly connect the live and earths away from the ciggy plugs ..makes for a neater install .You can then have a seperate fuse ...makes for fault finding much easier .
There are live points at the front , middle and rear of the car ..so depending were you want to install there is a choice of locations available G4 Gone ...but not forgotten
