Is there a volume indicator?
Has anyonefound it, with the HSE standard media package, is the radio volume level displayed anywhere?2016 D4 Landmark SDV6 (Euro6), Zanzibar (late run D4)

I tried to find one when I first got mine. Very frustrating not to have it.

am I being daft here because if I'm listening to anything I set it to a level that my ears feel comfortable at , thus keeping an eye to the roads .......Experience is a difficult teacher, because she gives the test first and then the lesson afterwards!!!!

Only when you turn it up/down does it indicate what level you are on, and a few seconds later the indicated level goes.

It is useful if you, or the previous driver, had turned the volume down whilst reversing so that you can hear the beeps before switching off.
Or when a track that has a quiet intro begins and you crank the volume only to have your ear wax blown out 2 minutes later!

Trouble is, since the sound comes INTO one's ears, it blows the wax further INTO the ear, and so into the brain, and ..... ... You sell your LR, and buy a Toy-Tooter.

I recall my previous, RRS the volume level appeared on the screen. I also have a recollection of a menu allowing the setup of relative levels for traffic advice, GPS, phone, etc above the ambient radio level. Was this in the RRS, the D or just a dream?
For Pop, knowing the level set when using the iPod, which always plays much quieter than the radio, would help so when moving from ipod to radio you would know what to expect rather than be jolted by a blast of sound making one take one's hands off the wheel, one to hit the volume knob down the ways, the other two clasped to the ears.

R,M,H. thanks I didnt know re the issues for Ipods etc, but is it necessary to see the visual settings when it can be heard; anyway most the time I dont have anything on as I'm listening to engine/car/road noises in case of issues plus I dont like to be distracted from attention to driving.(to say I'm not having a pop at anybody)

Don't have a D4 but isn't it strange that we refer to the level of sound as 'volume' which more correctly is an amount of space that an object occupies?
Decibels are a measure of change in sound pressure therefore we probably should use that term but I can't imagine any one 'turning up the decibels' <g>.LeighW

so the radio/music doesnt auto mute when reverse selected????
Well mine doesn't, don't know if it is a setting function that can be activated or not. D3 didn't do this either.

My ears are no more sensitive when reversing than at other times (like forwardsing). And its phrases like that which indicate that using the word volume to indicate sound level is perfectly rational English .... ahem.
