There is a ferry that goes (daily,I think) from Zeebrugge to Rosyth (Edinburgh)....if you are heading straight for Scotland that would miss out a lot of driving "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...

The best place to head for (in my opinion) are the Hebrides where you can wild camp in the most fantastic places

I hope you do not have many puddles in England and Scotland, Panoramix's Disco has the nasty habit of getting stuck in them and to be towed out of them.

if you time it right the tunnel and onwards to the m25 past london is fine with the caravan. I do it regulary.
I took mine up to Scotland Glencoe as well) and the roads are fine. IF you continue uptowards fort william then keep going towards mallaig and arasiag a truely breathtaking part of the UK. Even Harry potter thought so.

If you do cross via the tunnel come up the M11 and A1 and are heading to the North West then you will go over the A66. There is very nice small caravan site near appleby that is a convienent stopping off point. Not sure what the rules are ont he site but i can recommend it

Plenty to see and do in Fife, St Andrews, east Neuk all the little fishing villages
Plenty history and sightseeing then further up the east coast Arbroath Aberdeen etc.
Why not go up the west coast and down the east best of both worlds. Enjoy

I really like the Outer Hebridies IF you get the weather. When I lived there, I remember once it rained every day for three weeks and when it rained together with wind, it was near horizontal. miserable when that happened.
I'll put in my baggages 3 good k-ways

Just checked and unfortunately, its freight only now...I wasn't aware they had stopped doing cars and passengers sorry ....
Perhaps an alternative would be Amsterdam to Newcastle using DFDS Seaways http://www.dfdsseaways.co.uk/ferry-routes/holland/scotland/"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to speak out and remove all doubt" ?.....what rubbish...
