Its coming tomorrow (or Saturday morning) |
|
Well Ive gone and ordered an HSE. Black with black. 2009. Traded in my fast beemer estate for "a more sedate drive". Just wish I had it yesterday to get through some of the flooding I'm pretty sure now that my license is at less risk. I'm really looking forward to the higher driving position, and the feeling of superiority when looking down at most other road users.
I hope I've picked a good one, but that's not up to me, it's all down to luck

You'll love it , we made a similar move from a 320d Msport to the Disco3, there's not much in it in speed terms but loads of difference in the comfort levels getting you upto speed. the comfort levels are enormously better and our mpg is the same as the BMW as well and most importantly you won't have to role out on hands and knees like I did Now - 2008 Freelander 2 HSE
2008 Disco3 HSE Zermatt Silver - what a machine!
2007 Disco3 GS Black with no Brakes!!!

I'm going from a 335i twin turbo beemer, so I expect a little drop in performance !!! One of the reasons for going for the elevated driving is, as my monika says, I'm a tall bloke, and rolling out of the beemer onto a kerb is getting harder as the months go by

Hi
Hope you enjoy your new D4, but as your a BMW driver you will need to get used to a few new things like giving way to people, not sitting on other peoples bumpers and of course the Discovery has indicators
cheers

Well, as it turnes out, the first car that I ordered turned out to be well overpriced from the dealer. I told him so and he said he couldn't budge, so I cancelled.
So then I saw another dealer, and bought a car 2 years newer (2011MY) HSE in Baltic Blue, with almond insides. Not a great deal more than the previous car, so I think I did rather well (or Ive convinced myself of that anyway ) I picked it up this evening.
I'm dead chuffed with it so far !!!

Actually no, it was a bit of an impulse. After getting home, realised that the price was way over the odds so cancelled. Glad I did as my Baltic Blue, with Almond interior is a much better colour IMHO of course. 8)
So far so good. Need to find somewhere round here near Dorking to try it out. Nowhere where it will get scratched though !! D4 Baltic Blue

Is the feeling of superiority over other road users continuing?
