Jaguar to Discovery 3 Engine swap 2.7 TDV6
Hey,
New to the forum but wanted to get some advice on getting a Jag engine to replace my broken Disco 3 engine.
Are there any specific models of Jag or engine variants I need to look at for the most direct swap for the broken 2008 2.7 TDV6 in my Disco?

They all need a fair / similar amount of strip down of ancillarys and turbos.
Looks at
Jaguar S type 2.7
Jaguar XE

Hey, Thanks for that.
Are they identical engines in both S and XF then?
And what date range should I be looking at to ensure the right fit?

The key is that it is a 2.7
Years from 2004 on wards (not sure when they stopped)

Try and find an EU4 emissions protocol engine (07 onwards), otherwise if earlier (EU3) you'll be keeping your own HPFP, Injectors, Fuel rail, and a few other bits.
Either way you will need to swap the sumps, and ditch the Jag twin turbo setup. Do a search on here as I think site member Motolab did this swap recently. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ

Any suggestions for upgrade of oil pump and timing chain set-up as I hear these are the most common cause of failure (I believe the oil pump was my downfall)
Cheers

Fit a genuine LR oil pump and seal. The pump and special tools to fit the seal are available online from site sponsors AF, or you can make your own tools.
Personally I have seen too many chain / tensioner failures or near failure, so I insist now on these being changed at or beyond 150k where other major is being undertaken. yµ (idµ - eAµ) ψ=mψ
