I don't just want economy per se but there's a difference you can't necessarily ignore between 23'ish mpg and 30'ish mpg when you're doing 30k per annum or so of about £125/month

Indeed; a car they needed to make a quick penetration into the 'German three' competition base from a standing start not having a car in that segment size since the [not great] X-TYPE. It's called marketing, it adapts to needs, trends, quick growth etc. It was required for that model, it isn't for D5.
Whoever is right or wrong here fact is the D5 isn't on a discount scheme, simple as that really
I know what marketing is, I also know that the impact of a car being on the scheme has and it isn't negative, but its all ok as by the sounds of it as long as you're happy flying round in the cars and lending them out to people then what else matters. It seems like the good old classic case of 'hey why reward the actual workers' is at play.
Simple as that really, couldn't of put it better myself.
My original post was never intended to create an 'argument' about 'workers' Vs. 'Managers' so I'm out of the debate at this point.

D5 next maybe.....
Just picked up latest RRS, may be my last one as cannot see the V8d Chihuahua engine being available for much longer. If it drops off the scheme I'd probably look at D5 as next car
Best thing about this one over last one is I've gone back to black interior, won't be having cream again any time soon

Wanted Indus Silver as being pressed into supporting a few weddings early next year
Couldn't have that so went for this, Scotia Grey, bit darker in flesh than I expected but I like it, especially with the black pack in satin not gloss finish

Just personal choice. I find it impractical, always wiping grubby bits down. Jeans mark seat cushion and bolsters really easily and I just much prefer black interior

Thanks for that, may reconsider. Whilst I don't abuse things I'm not the tidiest .

Cream is not available unless you go for the lowest spec.In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.
