other jobs whilst changing head gaskets.

2007 D3 2.7 TDV6 315,000k bubbles and C02 coming out of expansion tank so changing head gaskets. And two questions
(1) how long should this take? And
(2) what other jobs/replacements should be done whilst at it (to save time and trouble in the future)
Any other suggestions appreciated!

1) A long time. Removal of the LH with rear belt drive is difficult without body removal.
2) glowplug change while heads are off. Cambelt change? Oil pump change (if old design as its a 2007)

Recommend you do the RH head first

just saying since heads are out:
1. change washers on injectors, or maybe send them for cleaning also.
2. cam tensioner change?????

Very useful advice - thanks! To both of you!
So I will also have changed the glow plugs, oil pump and washers on injectors (cam belt and tensioner changed recently).
Two main Coolant hoses also just changed (couldn’t access the one on the right hand side -looking towards the front- nor find where the thin ‘fast fit’ hose went!) but still have a leak which appears to be the thermostat housing on top of the engine which I will also get changed.
Because it’s a lot of work going to take a long time (which I do not have and is probably beyond my basic ability anyway) I’m going to get a local garage to do the work and was wondering what a reasonable and fair amount of hours the job should take?

dunno

the engine is also used in citroen and pug cars, so try a garage/independent that works on them, if you can't find a jaguar / landrover garage
